Prof. LIU Chuang, Executive Associate Chief Editor and Director and Prof. Wang Fei, Editorial Board member of Journal of Global Change Data & Discovery received the contributors’ certificates by Association of American Publishers (AAP) on the 2020 Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) Award Finalist and Subject Category Winner for Environmental Sciences for Global Environment Outlook – GEO-6 published at Cambridge University Press by UNEP in 2019. There are 250 experts from 70 countries involved in GEO-6.
AAP was founded by the merger of the American Book Publishers Council and the American Educational Publishers Institute in 1970. Since 1976, AAP PROSE Awards have recognized the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by celebrating the authors, editors, and publishers whose landmark works have made significant advancements in their respective fields of study each year. There are 157 finalists for AAP 2020 PROSE Awards, the Global Environmental Outlook - GEO-6: Healthy Planet, Healthy People is one of them.
Global Environment Outlook – GEO-6 was launched in 2014 and published by the Cambridge University Press at the fourth UN Environment Assembly in 2019. It highlighted the ongoing damage to life and health from pollution and land degradation, and calls on decision makers to take immediate action to address pressing environmental issues to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals as well as other Internationally Agreed Environment Goals.
Prof. LIU Chuang is member of Consultant Committee on ICT for the United Nations, the China Association for Science and Technology (CCIT/CAST), the founder of the Task Group and now the CO-Chair of data publishing sub-group on Preservation of and Access to S&T Data in/for/with Developing Countries, International Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA) of International Science Council (ISC). The Global Change Research Data Publishing & Repository (GCdataPR) led by Prof. Liu, is a platform for publishing peer reviewed quality data and worldwide services WSIS Prize (2018, 2021), which has been online since 2014.
Prof. WANG Fei, Professor and Deputy Director of the World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWAC), is the Steering Committee Member of Desert Net International (DNI), Director of Committee of Young Scientists, Chinese Association of Soil and Water Conservation, the experts of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
