On September 19, 2017, a cooperation meeting on Global Change Data Publishing & Sharing among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR, CAS). Fifteen experts and officers on environment and big data management from Belarus and Kyrgyzstan joined the meeting.

Prof. Liu, Chuang, Editor-in-Chief of the Global Change Research Data Publishing & Repository, and Executive Associate Chief Editor of Journal of Global Change Data & Discovery, presented the global change data management and its application in environment and natural resources research in IGSNRR, CAS. Several issues about the data policies, data infrastructures and data applications for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the SCO framework were discussed. It was agreed that environmental data cooperation among SCO countries by publishing and sharing. The following actions will be discussed and planed more detail, including joint publications, joint training programs and workshops. Ms. Chen, Liberian introduced the IGSNRR, CAS regular and digital libraries.
The SCO was established in 2001 in Shanghai, China. There are 8 member states (China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia,
Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Indian and Pakistan), 4 observer states (Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia) and 6 dialogue partners (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey).
