The academic papers published in the journals and
the original scientific data associated with academic papers are important
achievements of scientific research. On December 18, 2015, the editorial office
of Acta Geographica Sinica, and that
of Global Change Scientific Research Data Publishing & Repository (GCdataPR)
launched a joint announcement on the Pilot publication of datasets associated
with journal papers. On March 10, 2016, the editorial office of GCdataPR and
the Editing and Publishing Committee of the Geographical Society of China jointly
hosted a seminar on the Demonstration of data publishing and sharing of journal
papers in the field of global change and geoscience. Representatives from 35
academic journals, which were sponsored by the Geographical Society of China,
China Society of Natural Resources, China Meteorological Society, Botanical
Society of China, Chinese Geophysical Society, Chinese Society for Oceanology
and Limnology, Soil Science Society of China, Ecological Society of China, and
the local, ministerial and university organizations, signed the Joint proposal
for publishing and sharing original data associated with academic journal papers
in the field of global change and geoscience. Digital Journal of Global Change Data Repository (bilingual) was
officially launched in 2020. Based on the Regulations on Publication Management
and the Management of Scientific Data, the journal focuses on publishing
scientific dataset by peer reviewed and digitization. It has been listed as a
high starting Journal of the ??Excellence Jouranl Program??. On November 17,
2022, the General Office of the Chinese Association for Science, the General
Office of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, issued the ??Notice on Organizing the
Collection of Dataset Associated with Journal Papers??, bringing the scientific
data into the national data management system.
In order to
calculate the comprehensive impact score of journals, based on the
comprehensive data influence score (CDIS) of scientific dataset, the CDIS and
ranking of original datasets associated with journal papers published in 59
academic journals from 2018 to 2022 are obtained (except Journal of Global change Data & Discovery and Annual Report
on Global Ecological Environment Remote Sensing Monitoring). It is divided
into the first 5% as Q1 section (3 journals), the next top 15% as Q2 section (9
journals), the next top 30% as Q3 section (17 journals), and the remaining 50%
as Q4 section (30 journals). The CDIS and ranking of the datasets associated with journal papers from 2018 to 2022 are listed as
follows (Table 1).
