Fengxian County is located in the northwest of Jiangsu Province, China, belonging to the Yellow River alluvial plain, with a flat terrain and a warm temperate semi humid monsoon climate zone. The soil is yellow tide soil developed from yellow alluvial sediment, with a deep soil layer, loose texture, strong air permeability, and suitable for the growth of apple trees. Fengxian apples have been approved for multiple local standards in Jiangsu Province which provides important guarantees for promoting the large-scale production of apples in Fengxian County and ensuring the quality of apples. At present, Fengxian apples have been reviewed by the China Green Food Development Center and meet the A-level standards for green food. They have been recognized as A-level green food products and are licensed to use the green food logo.
