Abstract:

The global satellite free-air gravity anomaly (Sandwell et al., 2014), satellite bathymetry (GEBCO_2014), sediment thickness (Divins, 2003) and oceanic lithosphere crust age data (Muller et al., 2008) was utilized to compute mantle Bouguer anomaly (MBA) and residual mantle Bouguer anomaly (RMBA) in Southwest Indian Ocean. Residual mantle Bouguer was used to inversion crustal thickness. The Gravity-derived Crustal Thickness Dataset in Southwest Indian Ocean is consisted of: (1) Bouguer gravity anomaly data of southwest Indian Ocean basin with grid spacing of 5'; (2) the residual mantle Bouguer gravity anomaly data of southwest Indian Ocean basin with grid spacing of 5'; (3) oceanic crust thickness data of southwest Indian Ocean basin with grid spacing of 5'. The geolocation of the dataset ranges from 0° ~ 72°E, 20°S ~ 60°S. The dataset is archived at .xyz and .grd data formats, which is composed to six data files with data size of 69.2 MB (Compressed to one single file with data size of 13.7 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Chinese Journal of Geophysics, Vol.61, No.7, 2018.
