Abstract:

Borden Island is one island in the Queen Elizabeth Islands of northern Canada in the Arctic Ocean. It is 17.44 km separated from Mackenzie King Island in its south, and 93.66 km from Ellef Ringnes Island in its east. The geo-location of the Borden Island is between 78°16′09″N and78°45'59″N, 113°19′26″W and109°12'56″W. Most of the island is in the Northwest Territories of Canada; while the easternmost part is in Nunavut. The area of the island calculated based on Albers projection is 2832.35 km², and the coastline calculated based on the Lambert projection is 400.34 km。It is very cold and uninhabited on the island. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset Based on Google Earth Images (2015) and the relevant maps of the Canada. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, consists of 17 data files with data size of 359 KB (compressed to two data files with 165 KB).
