Abstract:
Barkol Lake Basin is located in Hami, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The geo-location of the basin is between 43°16'33" N and 43°51'47"N, 92°07'12"E and 93°58'30"E. The basin area is 5,647.22 km² and the perimeter is 455.89 km. About 81.50% of the total area is in Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County, 9.37% in Yiwu, and 9.13% in Yizhou District of Hami. The Barkol Lake Basin Oasis consists of 24 oases with a total area of 1,468.79 km². The largest oasis covers an area of 1,402.82 km². There are more than 30 small rivers in the basin, and the longest one is Liutiao River and its main stream length is 111.71 km. Barkol Lake is located at 43°40′16″N, 92°49′19″E, and its water area is 55.16 km², its perimeter is 37.94 km in 2020. The elevation of the Barkol Lake Basin is divided into 6 levels. This dataset was developed based on Google Earth images in 2020 (in meters), ASTER GDEM 30 m data, and in situ data. The dataset is consisted of the following data in the Barkol Lake Basin: (1) boundary data of the basin; (2) boundary data of the oases; (3) river system & Lakes; (4) elevation classification data. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 62 data files with data size of 14.9 MB (compressed to 5 files with 10.3 MB).
