Dataset of Spatio-temporal Characteristics and Mechanism of the Coupling Coordination between Digital Economy and Green Development in China (2010-2019)

Abstract:

Thirty provinces (Autonomous Region, Municipal Cities) in China were taken as the study area (the data in Xizang, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were unavailable). The authors constructed the index system of digital economy and green development based on the coupling and coordination mechanism of digital economy and green development. The vertical and horizontal slotting method and the coupled coordination degree were used to measure the level of digital economy, the level of green development and the coordination degree between them; GIS spatial analysis, spatial autocorrelation analysis and Dagum’s Gini coefficient were used to reveal the spatial and temporal characteristics of coordination degree, and QAP regression analysis was used to analyze the driving mechanism of the spatial differences in the coupled coordination. The dataset includes the following data in China from 2010 to 2019: (1) temporal changes in the level of digital economy, green development level, and the coordination degree of digital economy and green development in each province; (2) temporal changes in the level of digital economy and green development level in the eastern, central, and western regions; (3) percentage of coupled coordination types; (4) neighborhood spatial weight matrix; (5) spatial autocorrelation types, regional differences and decomposition results of the coordination degree between digital economy and green development; (6) regional difference matrix of the coordination degree between digital economy and green development with each driver factors in each province. The dataset is archived in .xlsx format, and consists of 1 data file with data size of 120 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 79, No. 4, 2023.
