Abstract:
Fengxian County, located in the northwest of Jiangsu Province, is the hometown of Liu Bang, the first Emperor of Han Dynasty. Most of Fengxian County is an alluvial plain formed by the ancient Yellow River's repeated breach and flood, with an altitude of 39 meters. Burdock (Arctium lappa L.) is a biennial herb belonging to Arctium lappa L. in Compositae family. Its seed (Furctus Arctii) is a traditional Chinese medicine, and its fleshy root has been used as medicine and food by more people in recent years. Fengxian is known as the "hometown of burdock" in China. Fanlou town of Fengxian County is located in the plain of the Yellow River flooding area. In history, it has the tradition of planting deep-rooted crops such as burdock. After the introduction of medicinal and edible burdock varieties in 1989, burdock in Fengxian County has developed greatly and was designated as a national geographic indication product in 2013. The cases of habitat protection and sustainable development of Burdock in Fengxian include the modern demonstration planting area and breeding base of Burdock in Fanlou Town, Fengxian County. The case dataset includes the data of case boundary, geographical conditions, including climate, soil, hydrology, vegetation index, etc., the record data of Yellow River breach and flood in Fengxian since 420-1936, burdock planting, management, product variety, burdock menu and ingredients in Japanese restaurants, etc. The dataset is archived in .shp, .tif, .xlsx and .xls data formats, and consists of 117 data files with data size of 367 MB (compressed to one single file with 354 MB).Browse
