Abstract:

Siling Co catchment is located in the hinterland of the Tibetan Plateau, stretching from 87°23′40″E to 92°13′49″E and from 30°03′22″N to 33°19′50″N, which is the largest inland lake system in Qinghai Tibet Plateau. The total area of the catchment is 46,087.15 km2,the outline of the basin is 2,151.29 km long. It covers the most area of Xainza County, and part areas of Amdo County and Baingoin County, and the edge areas of Xaitongmoin, Namling and Nyima counties. The longest continental river – Za’gya Zangbo and the largest saltwater lake – Siling Co of Tibetan Plateau are in this catchment. The delineation of catchment was developed based on the ASTER GDEM(V2) 30m data, according to the ArcGIS hydrological analysis module to extract preliminary results, and then modified based on the Google Earth images. The dataset is composed of linear and planar data, which is archived in both .kmz and .shp data formats with the compressed data size of 1.08MB.Browse
