Abstract:

The Nicobar Islands is a part of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, located in Bay of Bengal. It is separated from Little Andaman Islands at its north, from Thailand acrossing the Andaman Sea at its east, from Aceh of Indonesia at its southeast. Its geo-location is 6°45′22″N-9°15′24″N, 92°43′7″E-93°56′48″E. There are three islands in the Nicobar Islands. They are Northern Nicobar group, Central Nicobar group and South Nicobar group. The biggest island among the Islands is Great Nicobar Island, with the area of 899.68 km² and the coastline of 272.07 km. The total area of the Islands is 1,606.23 km², and the total coastline is 949.87 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 3.03 MB (Compressed to 1.21 MB in two files).
