Abstract:

The Hungary-Serbia railway between Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The study area of fractional vegetation cover dataset within 10 km buffer area along Hungary-Serbia railway in 2017 is from 44°44′17"N to 47°27′01"N, 18°54′07"E to 20°30′28"E. Based on the Google Earth Engine cloud platform, using the time series of Landsat-8 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) dataset, we integrated the maximum composite method (MVC) and Dimidiate Pixel Model to produce the annual maximum FVC dataset in 30m resolution within 10 km buffer area along the Hungary-Serbia railway in 2017. The data value ranges between 0 and 1, in which, 0 means no vegetation coverage and 1 means full of vegetation. The dataset shows that the FVC is mainly in the range of 0.4~0.6, accounting for 42.50% of the total area within the study area; the FVC ranging of 0.6~0.8 accounts for 25.50% of the total area; the FVC more than 0.8 and less than 0.4 accounts for 14.99%, and 17.02% of the total area, respectively. The data is archived in .tif data format at 30 m resolution with data size of 243 MB in three files (Compressed to one single file with data size of 37.6 MB). The report based on the dataset was Global ecosystems and environment observation analysis research cooperation: regional ecosystem trends along the Belt and Road.
