Abstract:
The western Jilin Province of China includes Baicheng and Songyuan regions. The Temporal-Spatial Cultivated Land and Conversion from Dry Farmland to Paddy Dataset in the Western Jilin Province, China (1990-2015) was developed based on the Landsat TM/ ETM /OLI images of 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2015. The object-oriented and decision tree methods were utilized to obtain the multi-periods land cover data in western Jilin Province, the change of cultivated land and conversion from dry farmland to paddy. The dataset includes four data files of spatial data and three tables of statistics data. The spatial data includes: (1) boundary data of the study area (.shp); (2) spatial data of cultivated land in 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2015 (100 m x 100 m, .tif); (3) cultivated land changes during 1990-2000, 2000-2010, 2010-2015 (.shp); (4) conversion data from dry farmland to paddy during 1990-2000, 2000-2010, 2010-2015 (.shp). Three tables data include: (1) Statistics of cultivated land and its change from 1990 to 2015; (2) conversion data between dry farmland and other land cover types from 1990 to 2015; (3) conversion data between paddy field and other land cover types in the western Jilin Province from 1990 to 2015. The dataset is archived in .shp, .tif and .xlsx data formats, and consists of 70 data files with data size of 40.8 MB (Compressed to one single file with data size of 14.9 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Remote Sensing Technology and Applications, Vol. 34, No. 3, 2019.
