Abstract:
The Ellesmere Island is located within the Arctic Circle in North America. It is 22 km separated from the Greenland in the east. It is Canada's third-largest island, and the largest island of the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. It belongs to the Nunavut territory of Canada. The geolocation of the Ellesmere Island is between 76°7'53"N and 83°7'0"N, 61°5'34"W and 91°54'32"W. The area of the Ellesmere Island is 199,038.01 km² under the Albers projection, and the coastline is 14,067.77 km under the Lambert projection. Grise Fiord is the largest community on the Ellesmere Island. There is an airport near the Grise Fiord. The dataset was developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset Based on Google Earth Images (2015), and maps and references related to Canada. The dataset is consisted of 25 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 17.2 MB (Compressed to 12.2 MB in three files).
