Abstract:
Ayon Island is located in the northwestern of the Chaunskaya Bay, East Siberian Sea of the Arctic Ocean. It is 1.66 km and 34.02 km respectively separated from the Eurasian continent by Malyy Chaunskiy Strait and Sredniy Strait in its southwest and east. The Ayon Island is in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Far Eastern Federal District of Russia. Its geo-location is between 69°33'15"N - 70°2'37"N, 167°46'35"E - 169°27'33"E. The outline of the Ayon Island is like a rectangular, with about 60.64 km long from northwest to southeast, and about 41.75 km wide from northeast to southwest. The total area of the Ayon Island is 2180.00 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 250.16 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with maps of Russia. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, consists of 15 data files with data size of 108 KB (compressed to two data files with 66.9 KB).
