Abstract:
Flaherty Island is the largest one in the Belcher islands, which is located in the southeastern part of the Hudson Bay, Canada. The Flaherty Island is 77 m only in the most nearest separated from Wiegand Island in its north, and 21.74 km separated from Snape Island in itssouth, and 416 m separated from Moore Island in its west, and 3.15 km from Tukarak Island in its east. It belongs to the Nunavut region of Canada in administration. The geo-location of the Flaherty Island is between 55°46'30"N and 56°37'49"N, 78°52'42"W and 80°1'20"W. The area of the Island is 1858.50 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 1019.49 km long based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with maps of Canada. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 24 data files with data size of 2.55 MB (compressed to three data files with 1.76 MB).
