Abstract:
Bolshoy Shantar Island is administrated by the Khabarovsky (Boli) Krai, Far East Region of Russia and geo-located between 54°36'53"N and 55°11'48"N, 137°14'8"E and 138°13'19"E in the western part of the Sea of Okhotsk in the northwest Pacific Ocean. It is 29.16 km separated from the Eurasia mainland, 16.9 km separated from Belichiy Island in the south, 14.2 km separated from Feklistova Island in the west, and 7 km from Prokofyeva Island in the northeast. Its area is 1859.38 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 248.36 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with Russia maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 389 KB (compressed to two data files with 162 KB).
