Abstract:
Vanier Island is located in the south-central part of the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Arctic Ocean. It is 3.67 km separated from Cameron Island in the north, 1.62 km separated from Massey Island in the south, 36.20 km separated from Melville Island in the west, and 9.20 km from Bathurst Island in the east. The geo-location of the Vanier Island is between 76°2'27"N and 76°19'29"N, 102°30'12"W and 104°28'41"W. It is is about 52 km long from east to west and 27 km from north to south. It belongs to Nunavut region of Canada. The total area of the Vanier Island is 1131.01 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 211.24 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with maps of Canada. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 15 data files with data size of 401 KB (compressed to two data files with 273 KB).
