Abstract:
Kashgar River Basin is the catchment area of Kashgar River and its upstream tributaries. The basin is located at the southern slope of Tianshan Mountains. About 96% of the basin is in China (located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region), 3% is in Kyrgyzstan and 1% in Tajikistan. Its geo-location is between 38°08'42"N and 40°39'49"N, 73°02'59"E and 78°02'35"E. The total area of the Kashgar River Basin is 67,850.64 km² (Albers projection, 2020), and its perimeter is 3,011.2 km (Lambert projection). The main rivers in the Kashgar River Basin are the Kashgar River, the Gezi River, and the Chakmak River, whose main stream lengths are 497.48 km, 357.34 km, and 230.74 km, respectively. The dataset of Kashgar River Basin and River System was developed based on Google earth images. The dataset includes: (1) boundary data of the Kashgar River Basin; (2) river system of the Kashgar River Basin. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 26 data files with data size of 105.00 MB (compressed to 3 files with 70.40 MB).
