Abstract:

An experiment based on TMMR(Truck-Mounted Multi-frequency Radiometer)was carried out to observe microwave emission characteristics of snow in melting/refreezing cycles process, from 6th to 27th November, 2012, at Integrated Experiment Station of Remote Sensing in Huailai, Hebei Province(40°20'N, 115°47'E). SNOW FORK, which is a portable instrument for measuring the properties of snow, was used to measure the wetness of snow. Intelligent Data Recorders were used to measure temperature of snow profile, soil temperature and moisture.The dataset is consisted of: (1) Remote Sensing Validation Landscape Image by TMMR, which was raised 4.7m high and observed the snow in incident angle of 50 degree; (2) daily data of brightness temperature at V polarization of 6.925, 10.65, 18.7 and 37 GHz, together with snow surface temperature and snow depth; (3) daily data of brightness temperature at V polarization of 6.925, 10.65, 18.7 and 37 GHz at the same time with snow observation parameters; (4) daily data of average temperature of snow profile and surface temperature by use of PTR Platinum Resistance Thermometer and Intelligent Data Recorder separately; (5) daily data of average snow wetness by use of SNOW FORK; and (6) daily data of brightness temperature observations and simulations by HUT model at V polarization of 18.7 and 37 GHz separately. The data is archived in .jpg and .xlsx data formats, the compressed data size is 379 KB. The preliminary research paper published at the journal of Remote Sensing Information, No.3, Vol. 30, 2015.
