Abstract:
Monach Islands are located 7-15km west of North Uist, the most west island of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, between 7°43′58″W and 7°34′44″W, 57°30′24″N and 57°34′52″N. The Monach Islands consist of 107 islands, isles and skerries in total (the smallest one is 130m²). There are 6 major islands,they are: Ceann Ear Island, Ceann Iar Island, Deasker Island, Shillay Island, Sibhinis Island and Stocaigh Island. The total area of the Monach Islands is 6.23km², the coastline of the Monach Islands is 60.16km long. The biggest island of the Monach Islands is the Ceann Ear Island with the area of 2.69km², its coastline is 15.90km long. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data format with the compressed data size of 296KB.
