Abstract：
Caka Salt Lake is located in the eastern part of the Qaidam Basin in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and is located in Qinghai province. Caka in Mongolian and Tibetan are all called "Saline Lake", also known as the Da Bu sun Nur. The Caka Salt Lake is the earliest Saline Lake developed in Qinghai. Its geo-location is between 36°45′34″N and 36°38′5″N, 98°59′43″E and 99°12′25″E. The Caka Salt Lake is located in the continental fracture zone between the Nanshan and the Ela mountains of Qinghai. It is a tectonic lake with sub-elliptical shape, the northern side is Wanyantongbu Mountain, the south is Wangxiu Mountain, the east is the Chatang Basin. The area of Caka Salt Lake is 139.39 km² (in 2015), and the lake shoreline is 74.27 km. It lies semi-arid desert area, with annual precipitation about 200mm and annual evaporation about 2000 mm. The water in the lake is mainly from the surface runoff and the spring in the catchment area. There are more than 80 springs in the lake area, and the surface runoff is all short and intermittent, among which Gaowei River and Mohe river have long streams. The salt crystal is green black and called “green salt” because its salt crystal contains minerals. The lake is rich in minerals and contains more than 40 kinds of brine. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth images (2015) and the referenced maps. The dataset was archived in .kmz and .shp data format with the data size of 337 KB in 15 files (Compressed to 137 KB in two files).
