Abstract:

The authors firstly synthesized the maximum value of the third generation of GIMMS Normalized Vegetation Index (NDVI3g) product to obtain the monthly maximum NDVI value. Secondly, the TIMESAT software package in MATLAB was used for Savitzky-Golay filtering processing, the data was reconstructed, and the non-vegetation (NDVI<0) area was removed. Cubic convolution interpolation was used to resample the spatial resolution of air temperature, precipitation, and solar radiation data of China's regional ground meteorological drive dataset. Lastly, the NDVI data for alpine meadow (AM) and alpine steppe (AS) on the Tibetan Plateau from 1982 to 2015 were extracted using the vector boundary provided by the 1:100,000 Vegetation Atlas of China from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The dataset includes: (1) monthly NDVI (AM_NDVI), temperature (AM_temp), precipitation (AM_prec), and solar radiation (AM_solar) for AM on the Tibetan Plateau from 1982 to 2015; (2) monthly NDVI (AS_NDVI), temperature (AS_temp), precipitation (AS_prec), and solar radiation (AS_solar) for AS on the Tibetan Plateau from 1982 to 2015. All data has a spatial resolution of 1/12° x 1/12° and is stored in floating-point format. The unit of temperature is ℃, the unit of precipitation is mm, and the unit of solar radiation is 103 W m-2. The dataset is archived in .tif format, and consists of 11,424 data files with data size of 1.26 GB (compressed into 1 file with 102 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Acta Ecologica Sinica, Vol. 43, No. 1, 2023.
