Abstract:

Based on the daily records on 113 major cities in China published by the National Air Quality Platform in winter of 2013-2014, the average NO2 and PM2.5 during the winter 2013-2014 were calculated. Using k-nearest neighbor’s classification methodology and the GROUPING ANALYSIS tool in ARCGIS 10.1, five classes of the relationship between NO2 and PM2.5 and population were identified. The nitrogen dioxide (NO2), fine particles (PM2.5) and population dataset from major cities of China in winter 2013-2014 supports the following results: only there are only 21% cities of China, where NO2 is reach WHO' s standard (40μg/m³); none of any, whose PM2.5 is reach the WHO’s standard(10μg/m³) in winter 2013-2014; there are differences among regions and city scale in population. The analysis results were published in Journal of Acta Ecologica Sinica, No.16, Vol.36, 2016. The dataset was archived in .shp, .xlsx and .kmz data formats with the data size of 58.6KB.
