Abstract:
Shiant Isles of Scotland is located from 6°25′3″W to 6°19′21″W, 57°52′45″N to 57°54′30″N, 5.34km south east of Lewis Island. The Shiant Isles consist of three main islands – Garbh Eilean, Eilean an Taighe and Eilean Mhuire; and eighteen small isles and rocks, including Galca Mor, Galta Beag, Sgeir Mhic a' Ghobha, Sgeir Mianais, Bodach, Sgeir na Ruideag, Stacan Laidir, Damhag. The total area of the Shiant Isles is 2.15km² the coast line is 17.98km long. Among which, the biggest island is Garbh Eilean, which area is 0.98km². The dataset is developed based on the google earth images and the the matic maps of Scotland. The dataset is archived in both .kmz and .shp data formats with the compressed data size of 96.2KB.
