Job Position Available:
Global Change Research Data Journalist
The Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR, CAS) located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China is looking for one Data Journalist to join the Global Change Research Data Publishing and Repository (GCdataPR) team. More detail about the GCdataPR is at: http://www.geodoi.ac.cn.
The GCdataPR team is operating two new journals, the Journal of Global Change Data & Discovery (inaugurated in March 2017) and the Digital Journal of Global Change Data Repository (inaugurated in June 2020). Both journals are co-sponsored by IGSNRR/CAS and the Geographical Society of China (GSC).
The GCdataPR is the regular member of the World Data System (WDS) of International Science Council (ISC) (Since 2016) and WSIS Prize (World Summit of Information Society Prize) (e-Science, Champion, 2018).
The Essentials:
l Ph.D. degree in geography, environment, natural resources, ecosystem or earth science related field required.
l No more than three years after his/her Ph.D. degree
l Strong GIS, remote sensing, cartography, data knowledge and data editing skills.
l Strong written and oral communication skills
Job Description:
l Quality-security-timely first perspective and collaborative, collegial, adept at working with data authors, editors to execute
l Team or independent working with global change research data, code or both according to the data publishing regulations and standards;
l Keeping eyes on digital innovation, on whether and how to adapt them to the global change research data publishing and repository work
l Participating research projects related to the global change research publishing and repository
l This job position is a labor dispatched position.
