Abstract:
The Columbretes Islands is located in the west of Mediterranean Sea, 49 km to southeast of Spain. Its Geo-location is from 39°51′01″N to 39°54′03″N, 0°39′59″E to 0°41′26″E. There are four islands, including Illa Grossa Islet, La Ferrera Islet, La Foradata Islet and EI Carallot Islet, and 10 giant rocks. The administration of the Columbretes Islands belongs to Castello de la Plana Judicial district, Plana Alta Comarca, Castllo province, Valencian Autonomous Community of Spain. Among the islands, the biggest one, named Illa Grossa islet, has an area of 0.14 km² and shoreline of 2665 m long. The total area of the Columbretes Islands is 0.22 km² and the shoreline is 6737 m. No permanent residents in the islands although there is lighthouse facilities. The dataset is developed based on Google earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files, archived in both .kmz and .shp data formats with data size of 78.5 KB (compressed to 36.2 KB in two files).
