Changwu County is located at the Loess Plateau of China. The land use/cover classification system is consisted of 8 first-level categories (cultivated land, forest land, garden, grassland, water body, residential land, industrial and mining land, and bare land) and 24 second-level categories. The dataset was developed based on the Landsat TM/OLI images and validated by the ground validation points and high-resolution images. The data result shows that the overall classification accuracy of the dataset is 86.64%, and the Kappa coefficient is 85.36. The dataset includes the land use/cover data of Changwu in 1990, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. The data is archived in .shp data format, and consist of 40 data files with data size of 7.36 MB (compressed into one file with 3.2 MB).
