Abstract:
East Falkland, also called Isla Soledad, is one island in the Falkland Islands (also called Islas Malvinas) in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is located at 589 km to the most southern point of the continent in the South America, and 1215 km separated from the continent of the Antarctica. Its geo-location is between 51°14′1″S and 52°21′32″S, 59°44′19″W and 57°42'45″W. The area of the East Falkland is 6523.92 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 2986.03 km long based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with related maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 18 data files with data size of 21.3 MB (compressed to two data files with 8.90 MB).
