Abstract：

The Night Lighting and Census Integrated 500 m Raster Population Dataset of Hainan Island (2013-2018) was developed based on the data integration between NPP / VIIRS night lighting and census data from 2013 to 2018. Pre-processing procedures were needed, including NPP/VIRS image synthesis, unstable light source removal and year-by-year correction. The regression model was established through the correlation analysis between the processed nighttime light data and the population statistics, and the population raster model was used according to the error classification to eliminate the influence of mountainous terrain, small population and other factors on the simulation accuracy. The dataset includes: (1) yearly 500m raster population data from 2013 to 2018; (2) population change raster data from 2013 to 2018. The dataset is archived in .tif data format, consists of 26 data files with data size of 11.0 MB (Compressed to one single file with 168 KB).Browse
