Abstract:
Wetland is one of the highest biodiversity and productivity in the ecosystems of the world. The Wetland Cover Datasets on the Large Wetlands of International Importance in 2001 and 2013 by Remote Sensing Integration (RamsarSites_Top100_WetlandCover_2001/2013) is consisted of wetland boundaries and wetland cover classification types. Based on data integrating among the RAMSAR Convention information with the remote sensing images from Google Earth and Tianditu platforms, the digital boundaries of the selected top 100 RAMSAR sites were developed. Based on the 16-day composite data product MOD13Q1 in 250m spatial resolution 2001 and 2013, by Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, the wetland cover classification system and wetland cover map in 2001 and 2013 were developed. Three levels of the wetland cover are included in the wetland cover classification system. In the first level, wetland and no-wetland had been identified. In the second level, six types had been classified, they are: Water body, Forested/shrub-dominated wetlands, Marshes, Flooded flats/Intertidal zone/Estuarine deltas, Paddy fields and Tundra wetlands. In the third level, Forested/shrub-dominated wetlands (evergreen) and Forested/shrub-dominated wetlands (deciduous) were identified in the Forested/shrub-dominated wetlands, while the Permanent marshes and Seasonal marshes were classified in the Marshes. The datasets are archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, the total size of the datasets is 103MB.Browse
