Abstract：
The Houtao Plain Oasis is part of the Hetao Plain Oasis, located in Bayannur, Ordos, Baotou, Wuhai and Alxa League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Its geolocation is between 39°17′2″N and 41°19′20″N, 106°10′15″E and 110°12′42″E. The Houtao Plain Oasis is the easternmost oasis in China, bordered by Langshan Mountain to the north, Yinchuan Plain Oasis to the south, Ulanbuhe Desert to the southwest, and Baotou to the east. The Houtao Plain Oasis covers an area of 19,989.11 km² (Albers). The Houtao Plain Oasis was formed by the alluvial and siltation of the Yellow River. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images in 2020 combined with other references. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 28.5 MB (compressed into 2 files with 11.4 MB).
