Using the statistical method on low pressure with closed contours at 500 hPa in plateau areas or there are 3 sites of the cyclonic circulation of vortex in the wind field, the Vortex frequency dataset of Tibetan Plateau (TPV) in summer from 1981 to 2010 was developed based on the analysis and information integration from the MICAPS (Meteorological Information Comprehensive Analysis and Process System) weather maps, NCEP/NCAR (National Centers for Environmental Prediction /National Center for Atmospheric Research)daily reanalysis data(2.5°X2.5°, 1981-2010 and 1°X1°, 1999-2010)and the Shear Line Yearbooks (1998-2005, 2007-2010) edited by the Institute of Plateau Meteorology, China Meteorological Administration. The region of Tibetan Plateau covers the area of geolocation from 27°-40°N,77.5°-103°E. The dataset is archived in .xls format with data size of 32KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in the Chinese Journal of Atmospheric Sciences. No.1, Vol. 40, 2016.
