Abstract:
On October 15, 2025, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) held a high-level event on the implementation of the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Initiative at its headquarters in Rome. Dr. QU Dongyu, FAO Director-General delivered opening remarks at the high-level event on implementation of the FAO OCOP Initiative. He highly praised the profound significance of the OCOP Initiative, highlighting its remarkable achievements in just four years across Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Near East and North Africa, Europe and Central Asia. No organization else could play such a crucial role in global food security and agricultural systems as FAO. He emphasized that FAO is not a group of professor sound ideas only, it has to provide practical solutions and approaches. The core value of the OCOP is a global scale with FAO initiative, while, it is a country owned and country led with broad partners. It pays more attention to benefit farmers with Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment and Better Life, and leave no one behind.
