Abstract:

Bangladesh selected jackfruit as its national product under the FAO OCOP (One Country One Priority Product) initiative. Jackfruit is widely distributed across the country, and ranks the second-largest jackfruit producer of the world. Through collaboration with China, Bangladesh has extended the value chain using GIES (Geographic Indication Environment & Sustainability) approach and technological support, facilitating trade with countries in Europe, the Middle East, and several others. Additionally, Bangladesh is striving to incorporate mango and pineapple as additional special agricultural products into the implementation of OCOP initiative in Bangladesh, benefiting farmers through the domestic and international trade.
