Abstract：
Albania has identified the chestnut as a priority product. The Government implemented the first biological control program against the Asian chestnut wasp in the Tropojë area, had built a sustainable agri-food value chain and strengthened capacities in mountain tourism. Working with FAO and the Government of the United Kingdom, a modern cold storage facility has been established in Tropojë. ”The Chestnut Route” has created a bridge between agriculture, tourism, and cultural heritage, generating new employment and development opportunities for mountain communities. Not only, Albania has expanded its engagement through OCOP+, focusing on milk processing and traditional mountain products, with the goal of further strengthening the agri-food value chain. Albanian Government has a clear vision for Agriculture 2030 by expanding biological control measures, adding value to local products, and sharing experiences with neighboring countries.
