Abstract:

Focused on 276 cities of China, take five dimensions of innovation, coordination, greenness, development and sharing, the authors use the spatial analysis, club convergence test and spatial econometric model to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of China's cities development quality from 2005 to 2020, and identify the major influencing factors in the process. As one of the outputs of the research, the dataset of spatial and temporal evolution, convergence clubs and influencing factors of the development quality for 276 cities was developed. The dataset includes: (1) the temporal evolution of development quality of 276 cities from 2005 to 2020 and identification result of convergence clubs; (2) identification results of convergence clubs in different regions; (3) the panel data of influencing factors for development quality of cities and the Global Moran's I Index; (4) three spatial weight matrices used in spatial econometric models. The dataset is archived in .xlsx format in 1 data file with data size of 2.08 MB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in the Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 79, No.4, 2024.
