Abstract:
In the early 1960s, natural forests near Nongla, Mashan County, Guangxi were cut down. Local residents began planting trees since 1964. By the end of the 1980s, Arbor secondary forests dominated by evergreen broad-leaved trees were basically formed. Until now, forest vegetation in the area is still in the process of forward succession. Mashan Nongla epi-karst spring is located in the secondary forest area. The spring was a seasonal spring and completely dried up in winter in the 1960s to 1970s. With the improvement of vegetation cover, the spring returned to normal spring in the late 1980s. Hydro-meteorological data were collected for the year of 2012 in the Nongla area by automatic monitoring instrument, and 11 groundwater samples were sampled at the Nongla epi-karst spring from May to December 2012. It shows that seasonal dynamic trend of mass concentrations of major cations such as Ca2 and Mg2 in groundwater is not very obviously. But it is very rapid that response to the dilution effect of short-term precipitation and the CO2 effect of forest vegetation. With the forest ecological function restoration, the concentration of the major anions and cations in Karst water has increased. It is proof that the forest vegetation has a significant positive effect on the Karst process. This dataset is consisted of two tables: (1) serials monitoring data, including temperature, water level, pH, conductivity and precipitation, of Nongla epikarst system in 2012; (2) chemical composition of Nongla epikarst spring water. The dataset is archived in. xlsx data format with data size of 992 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at the Journal of Jilin University (Earth Science Edition), Vol. 45, No. 1, 2015.
