Abstract:
Climatic warming and changes in vegetation coverage could interactively affect the soil nitrogen transformation in the alpine scrub ecosystems of Eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. We studied the changes of soil nitrate and ammonium contents and their responses to warming in the different growing seasons under the two plant treatments (removal- or keeping plant) in Sibiraea angustata scrub ecosystem on the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The contents of soil nitrate and ammonium were measured at the early, mid- and late growing seasons. Then the dataset of soil inorganic nitrogen within warming and plant removal treatments in alpine scrubland of the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was got. The results of the dataset showed that warming increased the air temperature and soil temperature by 1.6℃ and 0.5℃, 1.6℃ and 0.5℃ in the removal- and keeping plant plots, respectively. While warming decreased the soil moisture by 1.4% and 3.2% in the removal- and keeping plant plots, respectively. The dataset is consisted of: (1) air and soil temperature and soil moisture during the growing season under warming and plant removal treatments; (2) soil nitrate contents, soil ammonium contents and the ratio of soil nitrate: ammonium in the different stage of the growing season under warming and plant removal treatments; (3) the results of the repeated measures ANOVA for the responses of the soil nitrate and ammonium contents and nitrate/ammonium to warming, plant treatments, and sampling dates; (4) correlation between soil moisture and temperature, nitrate and ammonium. The dataset was archived in.xls data format in one data file with data size of 66 KB. The analysis paper related to the dataset was published at the Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology, Vol. 42, No. 1, 2018.
