Abstract:

The air pollution is the most serious environmental problem in China, especially for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, China. Based on the PM2.5 concentration data from Atmospheric Composition Analysis Group (0.01° x 0.01°), daily PM2.5 concentration at 79 air quality monitoring stations, monthly meteorological data at 160 stations, MODIS NDVI, stable night lighting data (DMSP/OLS), and County Statistical Yearbook of China 2015 (county and city volume), statistical yearbook of 13 cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the spatial-temporal characteristics of PM2.5 concentration was investigated and its natural and human influence factors were analyzed in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. The data result shows that PM2.5 concentration is high in the southeast, low in the northwest of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region; Many factors’ contribution to local atmospheric pollution are significant, which including mean wind speed, annual mean temperature, population density, relief amplitude, the second industry share of GDP, energy consumption, vegetation coverage. The dataset includes: 1) Monthly PM2.5 concentration in 13 cities of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region in 2014; 2) Annual average concentration of PM2.5, and the natural factors including annual precipitation, annual average temperature, annual average wind speed, annual relative humidity, vegetation coverage, elevation, relief amplitude, as well as the human factors including per capita GDP, population density, energy consumption and the proportion of secondary industry in 202 districts and counties of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region in 2014. The dataset is consisted of 9 files with data size of 5.43 MB (compressed to one single file in 3.43MB), archived in shp and xlsx data format. The analysis paper based on this dataset was published at Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 73, No. 1, 2018.
