Abstract:
China-Laos-Thailand railway is from Yunnan province of China through Laos to Bangkok or Royong in Thailand. The study area of fractional vegetation cover dataset within 10 km buffer area along China-Laos-Thailand railway (2017) is from 12°36′1″ to 24°26′25″N, 100°25′29″ to 103°2′56″E. Based on the Google Earth Engine cloud platform, using the time series of Landsat-8 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) dataset, we integrated the maximum composite method (MVC) and the Dimidiate Pixel Model to produce the annual maximum FVC dataset within 10 km buffer area along China-Laos-Thailand railway (2017). The data value ranges between 0 and 1, in which, 0 means no vegetation coverage and 1 means full of vegetation. The dataset shows that the FVC mainly ranges between 0.4~0.6, which is accounting for 60.70% of the total area; the FVC ranging of 0.6~0.8 accounts for 25.18% of the total area. The data is archived in .tif data format at 30 m resolution with data size of 1.64 GB in three files (Compressed to one single file with data size of 188 MB). The report based on the dataset was Global ecosystems and environment observation analysis research cooperation: regional ecosystem trends along the Belt and Road.
