Abstract:
Waichangshan Archipelago is located in the northern of Huanghai Sea, Changhai County, Dalian city, Liaoning province of China. Its geolocation is 39°0′31″N - 39°6′1″N, 122°41′59″E - 123°13′21″E. It is 50.0 km from Zhangzi Dao to the Liaodong Peninsula in its west and 15.3 km from Bashao Dao in its north. There are 18 islands and isles in the archipelago, including the Haiyang Dao, Zhangzi Dao, Dahaozi Dao, Xiao Haozi Dao and Dalian Dao, whose areas are all bigger than 1km². In which, the Haiyang Dao is the biggest one with an area of 19.21 km² and the coastline of 41.80 km. The total area of Waichangshan Archipelago is 34.15 km², the total coastline is 107.92 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp formats with the data size of 489 KB (compressed to 205 KB in two files).
