Abstract:

The surface melting of Antarctic ice sheet (AIS) is a sensitive factor of global climate change, which has an important impact on the mass and energy balance of AIS. Antarctic ice sheet freeze-thaw dataset (1999-2019) was developed using the threshold and Categorical Triple Collocation (CTC) methods integrating with the data of SSM/I microwave radiometer, ASCAT microwave scatterometer and regional climate model (RACM02). The dataset is archived in .nc data format, the spatial resolution is 4.45 km and the temporal resolution is day. The data type of this dataset is integer, where 1 represents melting and - 1 represents freezing. The dataset consists of two data files with data size of 16.7 GB (compressed to one single file with 32.2 MB). The data paper will be published at the Journal of Global Change Data & Discovery, Vol. 4, No. 3, 2020.Browse
