Abstract:

Alor Island is located in the eastern of the Lesser Sunda Islands, southwest of the Banda Sea in the west side of the South Pacific Ocean. It is the largest island in the Alor Islands in southeastern Indonesia. It is 39.52 km separated from Atauro Island by Ombai Strait in the east, and 31.47 km from Timor Island by Alor Strait in the south. The geo-location of the Alor Island is between 8°7'18"S and 8°27'39"S, 124°20'14"W and 125°8'33"W. It is in Nusa Tenggara Timur province of Indonesia. The total area of the Alor Island is 2116.99 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 364.26 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global multiple scale shorelines dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with relevant maps of Indonesia. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and is composed of 23 data files with a data size of 1.60 MB (compressed into three files with 662 KB).
