Abstract:

The Dimethylsulfide (DMS) and Dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) are the two most important sources of biogenic sulfides in ocean. The In situ-analysis Dataset on Biogenic Sulfur in Summer of Bering Strait and Chukchi Sea (2012, 2014) was developed based on the Chinese National Arctic Research Expeditions (CHINAREs) conducted in 2012 and 2014 aboard the icebreaker R/V “Xuelong”. Filed observations, gas-chromatography measurement and lab incubations were used to obtain the dataset. The dataset includes: (1) sampling geo-location information and environmental factors (temperature, salinity, chlorophyll a and wind speed); (2) concentrations of dimethylated sulfur compounds, including DMS, dissolved DMSP (DMSPd) & particulate DMSP (DMSPp); (3) production and consumption rates of DMS and DMSPd, and (4) the air-sea flux of DMS and mixed layer depth. The dataset is archived in .xlsx data format, consists of one data file with data size of 47.5 KB.
