Dataset of Fluoride Concentration and Health Risk Assessment in Surface Water of Upstream Tributaries of Yongding River (2013-2017)

Abstract:

Surface water samples from 9 monitoring sections of different tributaries in the upper reaches of the Yongding River were collected from April 2013 to September 2017. The fluoride concentrations were determined by using the spectrophotometric method, and analyzed using SPSS. Then the health risks of fluoride were assessed using the approach developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). The dataset includes the following data in the upper reaches of the Yongding River: (1) geolocation and general situation of sampling sites; (2) mean monthly concentrations of fluoride in surface water at 9 sampling sites and daily intake and risk index of different age groups (2013-2017); (3) statistics and frequency of Fluoride concentration of surface water in the sample sites (2013-2017); (4) hazard quotient values for four age groups (infants, children, teenagers and adults) in different regions. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx data formats, and consists of 9 data files with data size of 60.7 KB (compressed to 55.6 KB in one single file). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in Journal of Geographical Sciences, Vol. 30, No. 6, 2020.
