Abstract:

Canary Islands belongs to Spain and the geo-location is between 27°38′16″N and 29°24′59″N, 18°9′39″W and 13°20′6″W. It is located in 96.64 km west of the African continent, eastern of the North Atlantic Ocean. The Canary Islands is composed of 260 islands, including Tenerife Island, Fuerteventura Island, Gran Canaria Island, Lanzarote Island, La Palma Island, La Gomera Island, El Hierro Island, La Graciosa Island, etc. The total area of the Canary Islands is 7448.64 km² based on Albers projection, and the total coastline is 1953.49 km long based on Lambert projection. In the Canary Islands, the Tenerife Island is the largest island with an area of 2034.80 km². The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 10.4 MB (compressed to 2 data files with 7.2 MB).
