Abstract:
In June and October 2009, the authors investigated tree mortality and collected soil samples of the two forest types in Shiyan Village, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County and Shuangdian Village, Anzhou district of Mianyang, China. Six plots were selected (including 3 landslide plots and 3 non-landslide plots) in Shiyanwith with Cupressus Funebris and five plots were selected (including 2 landslide plots and 3 non-landslide plots) in Shuangdian with Cryptomeria Fortunei. Total 66 soil samples were collected in three soil layers (0-10cm, 10-20cm, 20-40cm) at each plot. The Dataset of the Tree Mortality and Soil Water Content infected by the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake includes the following data: (1) geolocation data of sample sites; (2) statistics data, including tree mortality, water content, saturated water content, capillary water content, field water content, bulk density, total porosity, capillary porosity, non-capillary porosity. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx formats, consists of 8 data files with data size of 38.5 KB (Compressed into one single file with 20.6 KB). The analysis paper based on the dataset was published in Fresenius Environmental Bulletin, 2017, Vol. 26, No. 7.
