Abstract:

Hami Oasis is located in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The geo-location of the Hami Oasis is between 42°30′31″N and 43°18′37″N, 92°27′12″E and 94°37′17″E. The Hami Oasis consists of 194 oases with a total area of 1884.50 km² based on the Albers projection, total perimeter of 1842.64 km based on the Lambert projection. And the largest oasis covers an area of 1577.37 km² and a perimeter of 700.08 km. The rivers that maintain the oasis in Hami Basin include Yushugou River, Wudaogou River, Dashengjuan River, etc. The main stream lengths of the three rivers are 61.35 km, 60.23 km and 59.42 km respectively (Lambert projection). Mountainous Part of the Hami Basin Rivers Catchment is the catchment area of the upper reaches of the rivers that maintain the Hami Oasis. The geo-location of the part of the catchment is between 42°40′6″N and 43°30′48″N, 91°58′29″E and 94°50′28″E. The catchment area is 4570.21 km² with about 99.28% of the total area in Yizhou District and 0.72% of it in Yiwu County of Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The perimeter of it is 798.86 km. The elevation classification dataset of the Mountainous Part of the Hami Basin Rivers Catchment include 8 classes: one is below 1500 m, upward at an interval of 500 m. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images, ASTER GDEM 30 m and in situ data. The dataset is consisted of (1) boundary data of the Hami Oasis; (2) river system; (3) boundary data of Mountainous Part of the Hami Basin Rivers Catchment; (4) elevation classification data of the Mountainous Part of the Hami Basin Rivers Catchment. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 65 data files with data size of 42.1 MB (Compressed to 5 files with 27.1 MB).
