Abstract:

A total of 431 cores from 224 trees of Sabina przewalskii were collected and cross-dated, including 169 cores (from living trees and dead stumps) from 139 trees collected on the mountains near Errigegou and 162 cores from 85 trees in ancient tombs of Dulan, China. According to the statistics of cross dating, the average correlation coefficient is 0.736, the average sensitivity is 0.355, and the percentage of missing rings is 0.775%. There are 15 cores of 7 trees from 411 BC. The annual precipitation (from previous July to June) of Dulan is to be reconstructed by the results of the growth-climate response analysis. The calibration period is 1955-2019. The form of the calibration equation is the common logarithms, and the variance explained is 61.1%. The split-calibration statistics from 1955 to 1985 and 1986 to 2019 show that all reduction of error (RE) and coefficient of efficiency (CE) are greater than 0, and both sign tests are significant at the 99% confidence interval, which indicates that the calibration equation is stable and has prediction ability. The annual precipitation of Dulan from 411 BC to 2020 was reconstructed by using the standard tree-ring width chronology. The dataset includes: (1) geo-location of sampling point; (2) reconstruction data of annual precipitation from 411 BC to 2020 and fast Fourier transform data of 51 years. The dataset is archived in .xls and .shp data formats, and consists of 8 data files with data size of 204 KB (Compressed into one single file with 54.6 KB).
